At Bilton, leadership isn’t just about driving results. It’s about fostering connection, empowerment, and building a culture where every individual can thrive. Our Women in Leadership spotlight series is dedicated to showcasing the stories and insights of the remarkable women shaping not only our organization but also the broader industry.
To launch this initiative, we are proud to feature Ashley Gorr, Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness. Ashley’s journey is one of authenticity, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to creating meaningful change through leadership.

A Passion for People-Centered Leadership
Ashley’s career in Human Resources is rooted in her passion for supporting others. A graduate of Mount Royal University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a major in Human Resource Management, Ashley discovered early on that HR was the perfect fit for her natural empathy, problem-solving abilities, and strategic mindset.
“At its core, HR is about people, ensuring that they feel supported, engaged, and empowered to do their best work,” Ashley shares.
Her work reflects a deep understanding of how aligning human capital with business strategy can create a positive, inclusive workplace that drives success for both individuals and the organization as a whole.

Building Organizational Effectiveness at Bilton
In her role as VP of Organizational Effectiveness, Ashley plays a vital part in shaping Bilton’s culture and operational strategy. Her leadership philosophy revolves around three core principles
Clear Communication Ashley believes that transparent and consistent communication is the foundation of a thriving workplace. "Strong communication is the backbone of any successful organization,” she says. Through regular check-ins, open forums, and leadership accessibility, she fosters trust and ensures alignment across teams.
Employee Development and Recognition Investing in people is at the heart of Bilton’s growth strategy. Ashley champions continuous learning opportunities, mentorship, and career development programs. Recognizing achievements, both formally and informally, is a key part of maintaining team morale and motivation.
Safety and Process Optimization At Bilton, operational excellence goes hand-in-hand with employee well-being. Ashley emphasizes creating policies and procedures that promote efficiency and prioritize safety. “When employees feel secure, valued, and supported, they’re empowered to perform at their best,” she explains.
Championing Women in Leadership
Ashley is passionate about supporting and mentoring women within Bilton and the broader industry. She believes that fostering a culture where women feel empowered to lead results in stronger teams and more innovative solutions.
“When women support each other, we create stronger teams, more innovative solutions, and a workplace culture where everyone can thrive,” Ashley says.

Her mentorship efforts focus on three key areas
Providing Guidance and Encouragement Whether through one-on-one conversations or informal coaching, Ashley offers support to women navigating career challenges, leadership aspirations, and personal growth.
Creating Opportunities for Growth She actively advocates for increased visibility and leadership opportunities for women, ensuring that equity and inclusion are integral to Bilton’s policies.
Leading by Example As a senior leader, Ashley understands the importance of representation. “Leadership is attainable,” she emphasizes, demonstrating through her own journey that success can take many forms.
Balancing Leadership and Personal Life
For Ashley, leadership extends beyond the office. Balancing her role as an executive with her responsibilities as a mother is an ongoing journey that requires intentionality and flexibility.
“True balance isn’t about perfection, it’s about being intentional,” she reflects.
Whether setting boundaries at work or being fully present with her daughters at home, Ashley leads by example, proving that leadership and motherhood are not opposing forces but complementary roles that can coexist with purpose and grace.
Shaping the Future of Leadership at Bilton
Ashley’s leadership approach is a testament to the values that define Bilton’s culture: collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Her efforts to nurture an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing environment continue to shape the future of Bilton’s organizational success.
“I chose HR because it aligns with my values and allows me to make a meaningful difference, connecting people with opportunities, shaping workplace environments, and contributing to both individual and organizational success,” Ashley shares.

As the first feature in our Women in Leadership series, Ashley’s story is a reminder of the impact of authentic leadership and the importance of fostering spaces where everyone has the opportunity to grow, lead, and thrive.
